16 March 2010
Tuesdays at Noon
On March 16 at noon, students from Troy High School's Performing Arts Class will present a lively 45-minute program of popular music from the 1930's to the present. The 21 students in the class come from grades 9 through 12, and all are members of the band or chorus. To be selected for the Performing Arts Class, they must pass an audition and complete an essay describing their motivation to perform. Most students come to the class for the opportunity to work on skills and material outside the traditional high school curriculum. The program will consist of varied ensembles performing both vocal and instrumental music. You'll see some versatile students playing several different instruments during the program.
This series is funded through the state and local partnership program of NYSCA and the Arts Center of the Capital Region. It is free to the public, donations welcomed.
