The next concert in the Tuesdays at Noon series is on March 20 and features pianist Megan Muthersbaugh. performing works by Debussy, Mozart, Liszt, and Chopin.
Back in 2006, one of Tuesdays at Noon concerts' organizational goals was "to provide a venue for and encourage young musical talent." On November 21 of that year, Troy High's "Gifted and Talented Students" featured Megan Muthersbaugh at the piano as soloist and accompanist. In 2009, Megan graduated summa cum laude from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.
This March she returns, as soloist, with considerable practice behind her, to present a sampling from her Masters in Music recital which she played in February at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. At UNCG, she teaches class piano, accompanies student singers and instrumentalists, and serves as a rehearsal pianist in the opera program.
For our concert, Ms. Muthersbaugh's selections include:
Trois Etudes Claude Debussy
Fantasy in C minor, K. 475 W. A. Mozart
Sonata in C minor, K. 457
II. Adagio
Waldesrauschen Franz Liszt
Nocturne in C minor, Op. 48, No. 1 Frédéric Chopin
Please come and further encourage this outstanding and gifted talent.
