Dr. Hurd is presently the music director at St. Mary the Virgin [Episcopal] in New York City. He was Professor of Music and Organist at The General Theological Seminary in NYC for four decades. David has taught at Duke University, Yale University, Westminster Choir College, and other major universities and colleges. David Hurd has received many honors and awards for organ playing and composing music. David Hurd was educated at the Juilliard School, Oberlin college, and the University of North Carolina. He has played at prestigious venues including Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Carnegie Hall and many churches. Dr. Hurd's music is featured in many of the hymnals of major church bodies. He is represented as a concert organist by Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists. Dr. Hurd is presently the music director at St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal in New York City.
